Demo Slot sat down with Anders Lokrantz, Head of Studio at Relax Gaming to talk about for our upcoming release, Beast Gains.

Anders covers the story behind the CasinoGrounds collaboration, new features and how the enhanced gameplay will help set it apart once released on 5th March.

DS: Beast Gains is your latest foray into the world of collaborative games, with this being the sixth time you’ve worked with CasinoGrounds to make a game. Can you talk us through how to the collaboration initially came to be?

AL: The collaboration started with the banging title Iron Bank. Closely followed by Beast Mode, Net Gains, Book of Power and most recently Iron Bank 2. We have from the start of the collaboration worked towards the same goal, creating games we would love to play, a lot!

We’ve got a fantastic working relationship and are able to understand player needs on a deeper level before going away and making them a reality.

Going on the success of our previous five releases we have worked together on, I have high expectations for Beast Gains and imagine that this will not be the last time Relax and CasinoGrounds join forces.

 DS: What are the benefits of working with a partner like CasinoGrounds, do you find that the creative process is bolstered by having additional insights from enthusiasts who play slots other than your own day-in-day out?

AL: It’s extremely nice to have a collaboration partner that loves playing slots – perhaps even more than me! CasinoGrounds come with different insights and experiences that are very valuable when we are making our games together.

We work really well to facilitate each other helping fill those small gaps in knowledge and expertise in a very effective manner.

When you get such creative and likeminded slot enthusiasts in one place, you really can create magic. It’s been special to see it up close and get a 360° understanding and experience.

DS: With a name like Beast Gains would it be fair to assume that this new slot combines some of the best gameplay from Beast Mode and Net Gains? If so, why did you pick these two slots to merge together into something new?

AL: Beast Mode and Net Gains are two very successful games of course. For both of those releases we saw potential of combining the two and adding features and flows that would elevate it even more.

Although they operate as two different games and serve their own individual purposes, we can certainly draw similarities between the two and implement what worked well and what could make it even better.

Ultimately, we want to improve with every release and bring something new to the table. We feel that Beast Gains gives us the best possible opportunity to do that and now is the perfect time to release it.

DS: Can you give talk us through the gameplay in Beast Gains, what’s different to other CasinoGrounds collabs, and how we players can win?

AL: For me, the biggest addition would be ‘the trail’. This helps trigger features more often creating awesome cascading combinations and exciting wins. More retriggers and multiplier ladder boosters amongst many new features.

The Feature Trail drives progress in both the base game and Free Spins by unlocking a dynamic range of upgrades, including Mystery Symbols, extra wilds, explosive chests, collectors, persistent collectors, coins, additional spins, multiplier boosts, and level upgrades, ensuring the action remains continuous throughout.

Beast Gains captures everything players love about feature-driven gameplay. It manages to keep the anticipation high in the base game and just as engaging as the bonus rounds.

DS: What’s your favourite feature or mechanic in Beast Gains, and why do you think players will enjoy it?

AL: The feature trail is a great addition to the series that I really enjoy and especially the full trail bonus makes my slot senses tingle.

It’s incorporates everything that slot players look for when playing a slot game and I look forward to seeing the reaction it gets from players. It perfectly supports the other features, which makes for even smoother gameplay.

DS: Beast Gains boasts optional Enhanced Bet, Bonus Reels, and Buy Features, just how important are these to a game’s success in 2026, especially when it comes to games that are heavily favoured by streamers?

AL: Nowadays it’s extremely important. For streamers who have limited time to reach their viewers and for players who want to have the option to play the game how they want to play it.

It’s about finding ways to boost the excitement and get those potential winning moments to players more regularly.

DS: What can we look forward to next from Relax Gaming and CasinoGrounds? Is there any game you might like to revisit, or is there something new on the horizon?

AL: I don’t want to say too much, but looking ahead, players can expect both new and exciting things from both our collaboration and sequel games. We’ve got some big things cooking under the hood in 2026 and can’t wait to see the reaction.
